Australia locks in $10 billion deal with Japan for three new frigates

Australia and Japan have signed an historic $10 billion deal for three Japanese-built frigates.

The ships promise to be more lethal, with the defence minister hoping to manufacture them in Australia in 15 years.

Defence Minister Richard Marles said, “There is no country in the world with which we have a greater strategic alignment.”
