At least three deaths after an Optus technical failure prevents 000 calls for hundreds of customers

Optus CEO Stephen Rue revealed that during a network upgrade on Thursday, a technical failure impacted about 600 triple-0 calls in South Australia, the Northern Territory and Western Australia.

Optus through its process of conducting welfare checks on those impacted, discovered three of those triple- zero calls involved households where someone died.
