Apprenticeships require a ‘cultural reform’ following shortfall
Victorian Trades Council Assistant Secretary Amanda Threlfall says “apprenticeship reform is long overdue,” after recent data reveals an eight percent fall in apprenticeships.
“The number one issue that they are coming to us with is wage theft,” Ms Threlfall told Sky News Australia.
“It really requires some cultural reform.
“That can be done through better scrutiny of apprenticeships, stronger regulation, and better enforcement.”
