Albanese receives formal invitation to the White House from Trump for October 20 visit
Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell has revealed Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has received a letter from US President Donald Trump with a formal invitation to the White House for his upcoming visit on October 20.
Mr Clennell revealed the letter said the president enjoyed seeing Mr Albanese in New York, and it also spoke about honouring the long-time friendship between Australia and America, as well as giving the PM best wishes for his family.
“Meetings with Donald Trump are nothing if not unpredictable,” Mr Clennell said.
“On a few memorable occasions, we have actually seen a scenario where the president and the leader of another country have met in the Oval Office and taken questions before the actual bilateral meeting between the pair.”
