Albanese confirms fuel excise cut will be extended to August

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has confirmed the fuel excise cut will be extended for another month.

The excise was due to expire at the end of June and will now run until August 2.

In addition to this extension, the heavy vehicle road user charge will also be reduced by 16 cents.

The Prime Minister says the excise reduction will allow further economic and fuel stability.
