Albanese accused of offering taxpayer-funded staff to buy votes
Shadow Energy and Emissions Reduction Minister Dan Tehan accuses Anthony Albanese of using public office to secure parliamentary support after Senator Fatima Payman alleged she was offered additional staff in exchange for supporting legislation.
“There’s a bit of a pattern of behaviour here because we heard a week ago that similar offers were made to a One Nation member of the lower house,” Mr Tehan told News24 host James Macpherson.
“Now it seems like he’s prepared to use public office to try and buy people’s votes.
“The Prime Minister shouldn’t be offering staff to buy people’s votes. That’s not on in a democracy.”
