Alan Jones’s barrister Gabrielle Bashir SC cross-examined the first complainant, known as Complainant J, in the ongoing trial where the 85-year-old former radio broadcaster faces 22 charges of indecent assault and sexual touching against six complainants. The defence challenged why the young athlete, who was 18 or 19 at the time of an alleged 2004 incident at Jones’s Fitzroy Falls farm, didn’t physically resist or leave, and suggested the graphic testimony was intended to humiliate Jones. The complainant maintained he was frozen and petrified during the alleged assault.
