Researchers at Adelaide University have developed an AI tool that can detect endometriosis in 18 milliseconds using transvaginal ultrasounds and MRI scans. The breakthrough could reduce the current diagnostic delay of 12.5 years in Australia and eliminate the need for invasive laparoscopic surgery. The technology, which could be available within a couple of years pending funding, has the potential to benefit one in seven Australian women who suffer from endometriosis.
