‘So many pokes in the eye’: Albanese government has successfully ‘antagonised’ the US

Former Queensland premier Campbell Newman discusses Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s lack of relationship with US President Donald Trump.

This comes amid the President’s 100 per cent pharmaceutical tariffs.

“I think that building a relationship earlier with this Trump administration could have made a difference,” Mr Newman told Sky News Senior Reporter Caroline Marcus.

“The relationship needed to be established months ago … Australia has a unique position as one of America’s most reliable allies, which should have been put on the table.

“The Albanese administration here has done everything they can to antagonise the US.”
