Construction begins on Brisbane 2032 Olympic stadium | 7NEWS
Construction has officially begun on Brisbane’s new 63,000-seat stadium at Victoria Park, which will serve as the centrepiece for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The stadium will become the permanent home for AFL and cricket in Brisbane after the Games conclude. Indigenous activists were removed by police from the site during Reconciliation Week, though they departed peacefully, and legal challenges on environmental and cultural grounds continue despite assurances from the Games Authority that the project will be completed on time and within budget by 2031.
