SpaceX Starship V3 completes first test flight before breaking up over Indian Ocean
A rocket that could eventually be used to return humans to the Moon has completed its first test flight.
The vehicle is SpaceX’s Starship V3, the largest and most powerful rocket ever built.
The spacecraft completed its roughly one-hour flight before breaking apart on impact in the Indian Ocean.
The controlled end to the mission was part of the planned test profile, with SpaceX CEO Elon Musk describing the launch and landing as an “epic” demonstration.
