Donald Trump has reached a settlement deal with the Internal Revenue Service that provides permanent protection from tax prosecution for himself, his family and businesses, while establishing an $1.8 billion Anti-Weaponisation Fund to compensate allies he claims were wrongly prosecuted. The President is also seeking $1 billion in taxpayer funds for security upgrades to his privately funded $400 million White House ballroom construction project. Republican lawmakers are concerned about the political impact of increased government spending and ongoing tensions with Iran ahead of midterm elections in six months.
