Tim Ayres downplays leaving Tomago bailout costs out of the budget
Industry Minister Tim Ayres has downplayed Labor leaving costs for the Tomago aluminium smelter out of the budget after being asked if there should be concerns about this omission.
“No, I don’t think so,” he replied.
“We are working through really carefully, as the prime minister outlined just before Christmas last year.
“We’re developing an opportunity that will drive investment in new electricity generation in the Hunter Valley and in New South Wales and put downward pressure on electricity prices for businesses.”
