‘Doubling down on failure’: Labor criticised for ‘bonkers’ 2035 emissions target
Former Prime Minister Tony Abbott discusses the Coalition’s response to Labor’s recent climate targets.
“What this government is doing is doubling down on failure,” Mr Abbott told Sky News host Peta Credlin.
“We have got to run our power supply to produce affordable and reliable electricity, not to reduce emissions, and that means getting more gas out of the ground and using it here, and it means keeping our coal-fired power stations going.
“It’s bonkers, absolutely bonkers.”
