NDIS overhaul to cut off at least 160k Australians
Around 160,000 Australians are expected to be made ineligible for access to Australia’s National Disability Insurance Scheme by the end of the decade in a major cost-cutting crackdown to prevent spiralling growth ahead of the Federal Budget.
It’s the biggest overhaul to the scheme since it was launched in 2013.
Health Minister Mark Butler has declared all participants will be reassessed with tighter eligibility rules, leaving many with disability uncertain about their futures.
