Iran urged to ‘drink from the poison chalice’ as Hormuz closure ‘impedes’ Chinese shipping

Foundation for Defence of Democracies Fellow Andrea Stricker details China’s role in pressuring the Iranian regime to strike a deal with the United States.

“I think the Chinese have a real stake in this, seeing as how a lot of their oil comes from Iran … their shipping is impeded by the Hormuz Strait closures,” Ms Stricker told Sky News Australia.

“They will remain a significant pressure point on the regime to be reasonable and make a deal, take a drink from the poison chalice, so to speak.”
