Urban bushfires threaten Australian Capital cities
A new report warns that millions of people living in Australian capital cities are at risk of deadly urban bushfires.
The housing crisis has pushed more families to outer suburbs with steep terrain, extreme winds, and bushland backing onto homes, creating conditions similar to Los Angeles.
Cities like Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra, Adelaide, Perth, and Hobart are identified as vulnerable, with Hobart considered the most at-risk capital city due to the fuel load on Mount Wellington.
