A menorah will light up the Sydney Harbour Bridge on New Year’s Eve after an open letter signed by Jewish creatives deemed the plan for a dove of peace was ‘insufficient’ and ‘obfuscates and erases the problem of antisemtisim’.
The City of Sydney had initially planned to illuminate the bridge with an image of a dove and the word “peace” to commemorate the 15 people killed in the Bondi shootings on December 14.
