The Australian Olympic Committee has announced a $20 million recruitment fund to support athletes competing in the Brisbane 2032 Olympics. The initiative introduces three new tax-free grants including $5,000 for Olympic selection, $32,000 per Games upon retirement, and a $10,000 ‘Olympic baby bonus’ for mothers returning to high-performance sport. The scheme aims to address financial challenges faced by Olympic athletes and encourage participation across multiple Games, as data shows 70% of athletes currently compete in only one Olympics.
