‘Drop’ in tourism as Australians travelling to the US must hand over their social media
Tourism and Transport Chief Executive Margy Osmond says approvals to travel to the US could take a “lot longer” as authorities will do “additional checking” of social media under the Trump administration.
“They have now applied a visa integrity fee, which is $250, to a whole range of countries,” Ms Osmond told Sky News Australia.
“We might see a bit of a drop, by the middle of 2026, in terms of those Australians travelling to the US.”
