Sunscreen brands face stricter testing rules after failures | 7NEWS

The Therapeutic Goods Administration has proposed stricter regulations for Australian sunscreens following a Choice investigation that found 16 of 20 popular brands failed to meet their SPF claims.

Under the new rules, sunscreen manufacturers would be required to conduct multiple product tests and provide results to the TGA before products reach shelves. Australia has the highest rate of skin cancer in the world, making effective sun protection crucial for public health.
