In south-west Victoria at Budj Bim (Mount Eccles) volcanic rock was being used by Gunditjmara people to trap eels and build stone huts at least 6,500 years ago. Bringing together traditional knowledge and modern science, this culturally significant landscape was granted World Heritage Listing in 2019.
