Trump announces project ‘Arc de Trump’ at ballroom dinner
President Donald Trump has officially revealed his latest project to beautify the nation’s capital and celebrate America’s 250th birthday.
The president will oversee the construction of a grand arch built across from the Lincoln Memorial at the entrance of the Arlington Memorial Bridge.
Its resemblance to Paris’s Arc de Triomphe quickly led to the nickname “Arc de Trump” on social media, with Trump telling advisors himself that he’d like to base the arch on the Paris design.
Trump announced the arch in the East Room on Wednesday during a dinner full of donors helping with his construction of a 90,000-square-foot ballroom at the White House.
