An employee with Chicago’s WGN-TV news station was detained on the morning of Friday, October 10.
In a news report, WGN-TV confirmed an employee with the creative services department was detained by two Border Patrol officers.
Josh Thomas captured this video in which he can be heard asking the woman on the ground what her name is.
“Debbie Brockman; I work for WGN,” she can be heard responding. Thomas then asks if the officers want to share their names, and they stay silent. A crowd can be heard shouting at the officers, who put Brockman and another person, according to WGN-TV, in the back of a gray van.
The gray van then rams a black SUV stopped on the roadway as it screeches off.
According to WGN-TV, citing a statement from the Department of Homeland Security, Brockman, a US citizen, allegedly threw objects at the unmarked Border Patrol vehicle, and was placed under arrest for assault on a federal law enforcement officer.
