Bangkok is among 41 provinces across Thailand hit by floods since September 16, which have killed at least eight people and affected more than 580,000 homes, the country’s interior ministry says.

The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration declared the capital a disaster-affected area on the weekend after nearly 300 millimetres of rain fell over 48 hours, leading to flooding on major roads that left some cars partly submerged.
