Australian researchers have developed EndoFusion, an artificial intelligence tool that can detect signs of endometriosis from pelvic scans in just 18 milliseconds with 83% accuracy. The breakthrough could eventually eliminate the need for invasive surgery to diagnose the condition, which currently takes an average of eight years to identify and affects up to one in seven Australian women. The federal government is launching a new online resource for GP clinics nationwide to guide doctors on better diagnosis, treatment and management of endometriosis.
