Tensions grow over tourism in Palau


Palau’s president has accused China of ‘weaponising tourism’, after geopolitical tensions between the countries have reignited.

The Chinese government warned its residents not to travel to the Pacific Island, a tactic historically believed to punish Palau for their recognition of Taiwan.

Now, Australia is trying to support tourism in the region.
