It’s been 25 years since Ansett Australia went bust.

Owner Air New Zealand placed the flailing carrier into voluntary administration on September 13, 2001, putting 16,000 employees out of work.

Ansett continued to fly some routes before finally ceasing operations in March 2002, closing the history of a once-major airline founded in 1936.
