Trump’s tariffs to have a ‘global impact’ on economic growth
Eminence Advisory’s Dimitri Burshtein believes US President Donald Trump’s 12.5 per cent tariffs will have a “global impact” on economic growth.
“It’s not a tariff on Australians, it’s a tax on Americans who happen to consume Australian goods,” Mr Burshtein told Sky News host Caleb Bond.
“The last round of tariffs were slapped down by the US Supreme Court, there’s an existing legislative mechanism for President Trump’s administration to apply here.
It wasn’t just applied on Australia, it was applied on 60-odd nations.
“Of course it might have a direct impact on Australia, but the greater issue is the global impact on economic growth.”
