‘They should stay out of it’: Houthis got ‘suckered into’ Middle East war by the Iranians
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio claims the Houthis got “suckered into” the Middle East war by the Iranians as the Iran-backed group imposes a naval blockade on Saudi Arabia.
Yemen’s Houthis claim they have targeted two Saudi oil tankers in the Red Sea, following the group’s announcement of a maritime blockade.
“The Houthis largely were smart and stayed out of all this throughout the conflict, but they’ve now apparently got themselves suckered into this,” Mr Rubio said.
“This will become a problem for the whole world.”
