Ukrainian MP says another wartime winter will not force surrender | SBS World News Weekly
Ukrainian President Volodymyrr Zelenskyy has reshuffled his wartime cabinet ahead of what’s expected to an especially hard winter for Ukraine.
Russia has repeatedly targeted Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, leaving it in a fragile state — the true extent of which will be revealed as temperatures begin to drop and the days become shorter.
Ukrainian people’s deputy Oleksiy Goncharenko says despite these challenges, the country can withstand another winter.
“I don’t want Ukraine to be [in] one more winter in war,” Goncharenko said.
“But, again, if we will be in this situation, that will not mean Ukraine will surrender.”
