Incoming passenger cards finally go digital in Australia
Australia is replacing its long-standing paper passenger arrival cards with a digital declaration system.
The Albanese government has announced a $56 million package for a nationwide rollout of the Digital Australian Travel Declaration.
Following a successful trial on select Qantas flights in Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne, the system will expand to Perth and Adelaide, covering all international airports and airlines within 18 months.
Officials say the change will improve border security by allowing earlier data collection and reducing queue management.
