South Africa corruption sees ruling class get richer as nation deteriorates

FDD Senior Research Analyst Daniel Swift says South African corruption has seen the ruling National Congress get richer as the nation deteriorates.

“Since the presidency of Jacob Zuma, which was about 2008 to 2019, the economy has deteriorated, public services has suffered,” Mr Swift told Sky News Digital Presenter Gabriella Power.

“Ordinary South Africans have seen members of their ruling African National Congress get richer and richer through corruption.”
