Telstra customers must prove losses for compensation | 7NEWS


Telstra is offering compensation to customers affected by its largest network outage in a decade, which occurred last Wednesday due to a software defect. Unlike Optus’s automatic $100 data credit following its outage, Telstra requires customers to submit documentation and evidence through a complaints process to prove their losses. The outage halted Victoria’s regional rail network, disrupted EFTPOS payment systems, and affected millions of Australians, with the communications watchdog now investigating whether Telstra breached its obligations.
