‘Crazy people’: Iranian leadership group condemned following devastating US strikes
US Ambassador to NATO Matthew Whitaker has launched a scathing attack on Iran’s leaders following devastating strikes by the US military.
Whitaker blasted Iran’s leadership group as a “bunch of crazy people” following the regime’s strikes on commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.
The ambassador appeared alongside Jake Tapper on CNN’s ‘State of the Union’ and reaffirmed US President Donald Trump’s push for a nuclear agreement.
“President Trump’s a peacemaker… and he wants a deal with Iran. He wants to make sure that they never have a nuclear weapon, that they join the world as a contributor and a normalised country,” Whitaker said.
“But right now, it’s, you know, as President Trump has said, and Marco Rubio has also stated, you know, this country is controlled by a bunch of crazy people.”
