Tas government seeks to claw back $56k legal bill from former Launceston hospital boss | ABC NEWS

A review tabled in parliament has recommended that the Tasmanian government seek to recover more than $56,000 in legal fees from a former senior health executive who gave evidence during the child abuse commission of inquiry.

Peter Renshaw — the former executive director of medical services at the Launceston General Hospital (LGH) — was the subject of five adverse findings in the commission of inquiry, and one misconduct finding.

He was one of 27 public servants to receive public funds for legal fees during the 2021 inquiries, which totalled more than $1 million.
