Spanish government faces ‘gerrymandering’ claims over migration policy

Sky News host James Macpherson accuses the Spanish government of “gerrymandering” over its plan to grant legal residency and work rights to illegal migrants.

“This, to me, is an absolutely astonishing decision … the Spanish Prime Minister said that the amnesty was an act of justice, but also of necessity,” Mr Macpherson said.

“Basically, he is selling out his country to make sure they can pay for aged pensions.

“It sounds like massive gerrymandering to me with a left-wing socialist government.”
