Thousands of whales are making their annual migration past Victoria’s coast, with a southern right whale and her calf swimming up close to a National Parks and Wildlife Service boat in Sydney’s Botany Bay. Three endangered koala joeys at Taronga Zoo have reached a milestone by venturing out of their pouches and learning to climb, nibble eucalyptus leaves and ride on their mothers’ backs.
