Andy Burnham, Britain’s Prime Minister-in-waiting and former Manchester Mayor, has unveiled plans to decentralise power by creating ‘Number 10 North’, a new Downing Street team based in the north of England. The initiative aims to drive economic growth across the UK and shift influence beyond London. As the only current candidate to replace Sir Keir Starmer, Burnham could become Prime Minister as early as 20 July.
