Trump joins thousands at Charlie Kirk memorial service in Arizona stadium | ABC NEWS
US President Donald Trump has joined around 100,000 people at Charlie Kirk’s memorial service, nearly a fortnight after the political commentator’s assassination at Utah Valley University.
Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and tech mogul Elon Musk were also in attendance at Arizona’s State Farm Stadium.
Critics have raised concerns the memory of the slain podcaster is being weaponised to supress freedom of speech after ABC’s suspension of popular TV host Jimmy Kimmel over comments about Trump supporters’ PR approach to the Charlie Kirk’s death.
North America correspondent Carrington Clarke says the event has the atmosphere of a Trump rally infused with conservative Christian characteristics.
