Millions of Aussies to receive wage boost
Millions of Australians are set to receive a boost to their pay packets following a 4.75 per cent increase to the minimum wage, but business groups are warning the decision could lead to higher prices, increased inflation and potentially higher interest rates.
The wage increase will affect 2.8 million workers with wages linked to the minimum wage from July 1, lifting the minimum wage to $26.44 an hour and taking it above $1,000 a week for the first time.
