Scott Bessent hilariously mocks Gavin Newsom with brutal five-word takedown
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has hilariously roasted California Governor Gavin Newsom during a press conference.
On Thursday, Bessent hit out at Newsom after the governor vowed to impose a 100 per cent tax on any money distributed from the $US1.8 billion Anti-Weaponisation Fund.
On Wednesday, Newsom announced his decision to tax anyone who receives money from US President Donald Trump’s fund.
Bessent was asked about Newsom’s threat to impose a 100 per cent tax on anyone receiving money from the fund, before he mocked the governor.
Before walking off the press conference panel, Bessent brutally responded to the question, “There’s no cure for stupid”.
