000 calls failed during 13-hour Optus outage, fatalities confirmed
Throughout the day, state and federal politicians have denounced Optus for a technical failure which cut off hundreds of people trying to reach emergency services through triple-zero.
They say they’ve had to intervene and demand details from the telco giant.
The company’s CEO has confirmed the outage in three states lasted 13 hours, not two as he announced last night.
And in breaking news now, Optus and WA police have confirmed that a fourth person has died.
Authorities say the second death in Western Australia was a 49-year-old man from the Perth suburb of Kensington.
