Charlie Kirk’s wife, Erika, has broken her silence in the wake of her husband’s murder.
Ms Kirk spoke behind a podium emblazoned with a picture of Mr Kirk, underneath the words: “May Charlie be received into the merciful arms of Jesus, our loving Saviour.”
She began by thanking police, first responders and Turning Point USA “for all their work in these terrible days”.
“My heart is with every one of my husband’s employees who lost a friend and a mentor,” she continued, through tears.
She then praised Vice President JD Vance and his wife Usha, who travelled with Mr Kirk’s body back to Utah on Air Force Two.
“You guys honoured my husband so well, bringing him home. You both are tremendous,” she said.
She then directly addressed President Donald Trump.
“Mr President, my husband loved you, and he knew that you loved him, too,” she said.
“Your friendship was amazing. You supported him so well, as did he for you.”
