Federal government invests $7.2m to tackle Australia’s worst diphtheria outbreak on record
The Federal Government says it’s throwing everything at the outbreak of diphtheria, in an effort to get it under control.
Latest data from the National Disease Surveillance System reports 230 diphtheria cases this year across Western Australia, South Australia, Queensland and the Northern Territory which has nearly 70% of cases.
It’s the biggest outbreak since national record-keeping began.
