eBay has eliminated selling fees for Australian users earning less than $25,000 annually in a bid to compete with rivals like Amazon and Facebook Marketplace. The platform, which previously charged up to 13% per sale, has introduced a buyer protection fee of 4-8% instead. Australia’s e-commerce market is projected to reach nearly $10 billion by 2029, with eBay also acquiring second-hand fashion marketplace Depop for $1.7 billion.
