Gelato Messina has launched a promotional campaign winding back prices to 2002 levels every Monday in May, creating extraordinary queues outside its Sydney stores. The campaign highlights how inflation has increased the cost of living by 78% over the past quarter century, with items like milk, bread, eggs and petrol all significantly more expensive, while property prices in areas like Paddington have more than tripled from $730,000 to over $2 million.
