The orchestra cancelled his scheduled Melbourne Town Hall performance the following day, citing safety concerns after the controversy attracted international attention. The three-week unfair dismissal trial has attracted protesters and a crowdfunding campaign that has raised $179,000 for Gillham’s legal expenses.
