The ABC projects that One Nation has won the Farrer by-election. David Farley is the first One Nation candidate elected to the House of Representatives. He is also the first member for Farrer not representing the Liberal or National Party.
The Liberals have failed to hold the vast rural NSW seat of their former leader, Sussan Ley. She resigned from parliament in February after losing a leadership challenge to Angus Taylor. One Nation has led the Liberals in national polls for months.
