Hantavirus outbreak sparks cruise ship evacuation | 7NEWS
Three patients suspected of Hantavirus infection have been evacuated from a cruise ship off the west coast of Africa, with 146 people remaining aboard including four Australians. The World Health Organisation is tracing 69 cruise contacts linked to a single outbreak, with speculation that a Dutch couple’s visit to an Argentinian landfill site may have been the source. The ship is heading towards the Canary Islands on a three-day journey, though permission to dock has been denied by local authorities.
